Question/Challenge:
In the wake of the pandemic, the Urban Habitat Cluster, part of the Cali Chamber of Commerce, aimed to rejuvenate the construction sector in Cali and Valle del Cauca. Seven organizations, spanning various aspects of the construction and design sectors, came together to tackle a pivotal question: “How can we enhance the sophistication of the construction sector and seize new business opportunities in a post-pandemic world?
Strategy:
To address each organization’s unique challenges while tackling the overarching question, I assembled a team of three fractional strategic facilitators. Together, we designed an innovation Sprint process comprising seven sessions. This structured approach included:
- Custom Sessions for Each Organization: We tailored individual sessions to address the unique challenges faced by each organization, creating strategic roadmaps for new product and service opportunities.
- Group Sessions for Collaboration: These sessions encouraged cross-pollination of ideas and networking among the companies, promoting collaboration and shared learning.
- Developing a Shared Vision: We guided each team in creating a unified vision that reflected their current capabilities, aspirations, and future goals.
- Alignment with Growth Strategies: We worked to ensure that new initiatives were in sync with broader growth strategies, providing focused and targeted innovation efforts.
- Trend Insights and Opportunity Recognition: By training teams to observe market trends, we helped identify key opportunities for innovation.
- User-Centric Methodologies: We employed tools like Jobs to Be Done (JTBD) and Customer Journey mapping to better understand and address the evolving needs of end-users.
- Concept Development: Guidance on defining Value Propositions and understanding product concepts led to innovative proposals for new offerings.
